Grimaldi’s Pizzeria – Chelsea

19 Dec

For those of you that have never heard of Grimaldi’s, it’s one of the most unbelievable pizza places in NYC. The original restaurant is located right under the Brooklyn Bridge (on the Brooklyn side) and outside you will usually find an hour long line of miserable tourists waiting in the freezing cold just for a bite of Brooklyn’s best. My friend Adam was in town this weekend and he never makes the trip out to NYC without stopping in for some Grimaldi’s (the poor guy lives in Chicago, home of the “deep dish” pizza, which is garbage).  Last week I discovered that Grimaldi’s just opened a small Manhattan location that’s strangely hidden in the back section of the upscale designer mall on 20th and 6th avenue. It’s a bit tricky to find, but if you walk into the back section of the mall (which is in the old church that used to be Limelight), you will find a small, semi-crowded Grimaldi’s with no line and the same incredible pizza.

Chicken with Tomatoes, White Wine and Garlic

6 Dec

Here’s a great recipe for chicken with tomato, garlic and white wine.  It’s super easy and you probably have most of the stuff you’ll need in your kitchen already.  I’ve tried making this with chicken breast or thighs, but nothing really works as well as drumsticks.  Even better, they are incredibly cheap and after they simmer in the tomatoes and garlic for a while, they are infused with flavor and will just fall off the bone.  Click through to see the full recipe
